To strengthen temperature-controlled logistics, Indian Railways has introduced a dedicated refrigerated freight service between Hyderabad and Mumbai. The first “Aushadhi Express” was flagged off from the ICD at Sanathnagar, marking a key step in supporting the transport of pharmaceutical and other perishable goods. Operated by Container Corporation of India (CCI), the service uses refrigerated containers equipped with diesel-powered units to maintain precise temperature conditions throughout transit. The inaugural run was flagged off by SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava and CONCOR CMD Sanjay Swarup. The corridor connects Hyderabad — one of India’s leading pharmaceutical hubs — to Jawaharlal Nehru Port, a critical gateway for exports. The initiative is being executed in collaboration with Maersk, which is providing advanced refrigerated containers to support the service.
