Sunil Kohli, MD, Rahat Cargo said, “To ensure safety of goods until its delivery at the respective destinations, it is absolutely essential to follow certain vital actions. Stuffing of the contents should be done in the boxes made of durable and sturdy materials apart from labelling them clearly as per international standards to guide the handlers. The temper-proof tapes and seals may also be used on the boxes. Cargo theft or tampering are very concerning and may cost dearly hence using barcodes and digital records can add a layer of security to cargo followed by online monitoring of the shipment’s movement . The shipment process must be analysed thoroughly from the beginning to the end. All the security threats are to be thought of, and extra precautions are to be taken wherever necessary.”
