FIATA has released a Practical Guide to the Electronic FIATA Multimodal Bill of Lading (eFBL), aimed at advancing digital adoption across global supply chains. Published on 1 April in Geneva, the guide provides forwarders with clear, practical direction to implement a legally robust and interoperable alternative to paper documentation. The eFBL is the digital version of the negotiable FIATA Multimodal Transport Bill of Lading, introduced in 1968. It remains aligned with frameworks set by United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and International Chamber of Commerce, including UCP 600, ensuring consistency with established trade and commercial practices.
