‘Fortify reserves, diversify suppliers for energy security way out of India’

amit

Amit Maheshwari, Founder and CEO, Softlink Global, said, “Tensions in West Asia are tightening global energy flows. Nearly one-fifth of the world’s oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz, and India imports 85 per cent of its crude through this trading lane. Even small disruptions push up crude prices, freight rates, and war-risk insurance. For India, strengthening reserves, diversifying suppliers, and scaling renewables are now critical for energy security. These disruptions impact aviation fuel, transport costs, and oil refineries.”
