The Department of Posts (India Post) and the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare have signed an agreement to create a nationwide logistics framework for transporting pesticide, seed, and fertiliser samples to designated testing laboratories across India. Signed in the presence of Union Ministers Jyotiraditya M Scindia and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the initiative will leverage India Post’s network of 1.6 lakh post offices, most of them in rural areas, to enable secure, traceable, and time-bound movement of samples, including from remote regions. The collaboration supports the PAN-India Online Pesticide, Seed and Fertiliser Quality Management System, a digital platform aimed at improving transparency, quality control, and timely testing of agricultural inputs through an integrated, technology-driven workflow.
