The Indian Railways and BPCL signed a pact to develop a GatiShakti multi-modal cargo terminal on the outskirts of Jammu city. Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager on behalf of Jammu Division and Chandan Chauhan, Territory Manager (Retail), representing BPCL signed the agreement. The move is intended to speed up freight movement and consolidate region’s energy supply chain. The terminal will enable a monthly supply of almost 162,000 MT of petroleum products. According to officials, the project will ensure uninterrupted fuel supply to strategically significant areas of J&K and Ladakh. As per the officials, the proposed terminal will ease the logistics of petroleum products. The terminal, which will incorporate modern tank wagons, is expected to become operational by the end of this month.
