Multimodal push fuels growth in logistics & ports: Report

Logistics-1

India’s push towards multimodal transport under the PM Gati Shakti initiative is steadily reshaping the logistics landscape by integrating road, rail and port infrastructure to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This policy-led shift is encouraging freight movement through more organized and integrated networks, benefiting companies involved in rail logistics, port operations and end-to-end freight solutions. Recent performance reflects this trend: Transport Corporation of India reported steady revenue and profit growth driven by its supply chain and rail segments; JSW Infrastructure saw healthy gains supported by higher cargo volumes and ongoing capacity expansion; and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone posted strong revenue and profit growth backed by rising container traffic and operational efficiencies. While infrastructure development remains capital-intensive with gradual payoff, policy support and expanding networks are positioning these players for long-term volume growth and improved efficiency.
