Global air cargo operations at Nashik Airport witnessed strong growth during the first 11 months of 2025, recording a 2.5-fold increase driven by robust export demand. The airport handled 7,155 tonnes of global cargo across 408 dedicated flights between January and November, compared to 2,529 tonnes on 145 flights during the same period last year. Exports included grapes, agricultural produce, poultry, defence equipment, and industrial goods, with pharmaceutical shipments also commencing over the past two months. Officials attributed the growth to lower cargo handling charges compared to Mumbai Airport and Nashik’s growing potential as a diversified export hub. Managed by HALCON, a JV between HAL and CONCOR, the airport crossed the 7,000-tonne global cargo milestone for the first time in a calendar year.
