Despite reforms in India’s customs processes, several challenges continue to impact trade facilitation. Devendra Singh Bhadoria, President, Delhi Customs Brokers Association (DCBA), said, frequent regulatory changes and interpretation of rules often create uncertainty for stakeholders. Delays associated with faceless assessments and infra gaps at airports and ICDs constrain smooth operations. In addition, technical glitches in digital platforms such as ICEGATE and the Partner Government Agency system can disrupt clearance processes. Rising compliance requirements and documentation obligations add to the operational complexities faced by customs brokers and others in the trade ecosystem.
