The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded a ₹2,360 crore contract for a four-lane expressway linking Vadhavan Port in Tava village with NH-48 in Maharashtra. The project, commissioned under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model, will be executed by a JV between J. Kumar Infraprojects and Shinde Developers. Spanning 32.1 km, the access-controlled expressway will link the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway with NH-48, enhancing port connectivity across the state. Features include a 800 metre twin tube tunnel, two major bridges, 33 minor bridges, six flyovers, 84 culverts, a railway overbridge, seven vehicular underpasses, 24 light vehicular underpasses, four small underpasses, and two wayside amenities. Designed for future growth, the four-lane corridor will be expanded to eight lanes, promising smoother, faster movement of goods and strengthening Maharashtra’s logistics infrastructure.
