Amit Maheshwari, Founder and CEO, Softlink Global said, “According to the DPIIT, estimate of logistics cost at 7–8 per cent reflects progress, driven by better road quality, faster highway builds, bypasses around cities, and tools, such as FASTag that cut idle time. Freight now moves with fewer stops and more predictability. Major gaps remain in first-and last-mile links, rail freight speed and reliability, port dwell time, and fragmented digital systems. Many costs still sit outside national averages — delays, poor planning, manual work, and weak coordination across players.
