‘Simpler rules, logistics to boost global trade resolve’

RS Subramanian, Senior Vice President, South Asia, DHL Express, underscored four critical levers to enhance India’s global competitiveness — simplifying customs and tax regulations, easing and lowering the cost of compliance, strengthening logistics infrastructure, and adopting a trust-based regulatory framework. Emphasising that these measures could reduce logistics costs, he said they should remain priority areas in the upcoming Union Budget. Subramanian highlighted the importance of continued investment in multi-modal infrastructure under the NLP to support India’s expanding export ambitions. Noting sustainability as an emerging priority in global trade, he added that express logistics players are increasingly focused on cutting greenhouse gas emissions through the adoption of SAF, and reiterated DHL Express’s commitment to working with customers and policymakers to advance India’s export- and manufacturing-led growth goals.”
