Indrani Chatterjee, Group CHRO, Allcargo Group, said, “The logistics industry is experiencing a transformation that is making this male-dominated sector structurally more inclusive at its core. As technology, automation and smart infra are reshaping the backbone of warehousing and last-mile delivery, they are also helping lower barriers that earlier limited women’s participation. This has resulted to a gradual increase in women’s participation across a range of functions. At Allcargo Group, our overall global gender representation is 49 per cent women, supported by initiatives such as all-women shifts, return-to-work programmes and targeted talent acquisition that prioritises inclusivity without compromising on capability. We have strengthened workplace infrastructure with safe transport, secure amenities, POSH compliance and flexible shift structures. These reforms create an ecosystem where women can enter, sustain and grow within the workforce. The industry must continue to innovate HR strategies, strengthen safety protocols, and build ecosystems that welcome women from urban centres to rural talent pools.
