Swissport, a global aviation services provider, is strengthening its focus on India considering the rising global demand for air cargo. Swissport considers India as a major opportunity within its Asia-Pacific expansion strategy, supported by strong growth in e-commerce shipments, pharmaceutical exports and rising air travel. The company, which has operations in nearly 300 airports worldwide, is already working with Indian airlines including Air India, Air India Express and IndiGo at several international airports. The company is now weighing options to increase its presence in India by consolidating its cargo-handling services. In a statement, Swissport said, ‘Asia-Pacific is a strategic priority for Swissport as the country stands out as a highly attractive growth market.”
