Swissport has signed a pact to acquire a majority stake in CV Handling, the ground services provider across seven airports in Cabo Verde, following a competitive privatisation process led by the government. The deal strengthens Swissport’s footprint in Africa, where it operates in multiple markets. With this acquisition, CV Handling will benefit from Swissport’s global standards, digital capabilities and operational expertise, alongside planned investments in infrastructure, training and technology. Key airports such as Sal and Praia are likely to see improved service quality as they position themselves as regional aviation hubs. The move aligns with Swissport’s broader strategy to expand through acquisitions and enhance its capabilities across ground handling, cargo and aviation services, subject to regulatory approvals.
