Tamil Nadu is advancing plans to develop an air cargo village near the proposed greenfield airport at Parandur, aiming to create a dedicated cargo ecosystem alongside its upcoming aviation hub. According to official sources, the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) has begun a study to evaluate the project’s feasibility and design. The facility is expected to bring together logistics, warehousing, and allied services to streamline air cargo ops. Around 150 acres of land may be required in phases. The initiative is part of a broader City Logistics Plan currently under preparation. The move reflects expectations that the Parandur airport, once operational, will handle a substantial share of global passenger and cargo traffic, strengthening the state’s position as a key logistics and trade hub.
