
Kamal Jain, Director, Cargomen Logistics said, “Ongoing tensions in the Middle East are likely to increase supply chain logistics costs for India. Shipping lines are avoiding risk zones such as the Strait of Hormuz and Red Sea, causing longer routes, higher fuel use, and rising freight rates.
War-risk insurance premiums are also increasing. Air cargo is affected due to restricted airspace. As a result, India may see higher freight costs, longer transit times, and temporary disruptions in sectors like oil, jewellery, and electronics trade.”
