VO Chidambaranar Port to invest ₹15k cr to boost cargo handling

VO Chidambaranar Port is set to invest ₹15,000 crore in its ambitious Outer Harbour project aimed at significantly enhancing cargo handling capacity and establishing Tamil Nadu as a key transshipment hub in southern India, a senior official said. The proposed investment is in addition to a planned capital expenditure of ₹1,500 crore earmarked for upgrading port infrastructure, implementing green initiatives, and deploying advanced technologies.
