Empowering female heroes on ‘World Menstrual Hygiene Day’

On the occasion of “World Menstrual Hygiene Day”, which is observed on May 28, NBS Bal Vikas Vidyalayaa, a charitable entity organised a session to create awareness on menstrual health and hygiene. The session, held in NBS premises on 26th May, 2023 focused on taboos related to Mensuration and hygiene. The event was attended by mothers of school kids. A prominent musical group, ‘Manzil Mystics’ was also invited to make the event more lively, entertaining yet educational. Their outstanding performance make women feel empowered. Amoli Society for women, which works for the welfare of the women, also participated, They explained how girls and women need to maintain good menstrual hygiene to uphold their health and dignity. It was all explained in very simplistic way. During the workshop, everyone was told about the science behind menstruation and the myths surrounding it were also made clear to them. The session helped in sensitizing them on various complications arising out of lack of menstrual hygiene. A question-answer round was also conducted for better clarity. In the end, there was a free distribution of Sanitary Pads for all the females.
