Softlink Global re-affirmed its position as a pioneer in logistics innovation and talent development at the India International Cargo Show (IICS) 2024 held at the Jio World Convention Centre from Dec 11-13. The premier event, which saw audiences from around the world gather to explore the latest solutions, was a resounding success for both promoters and the logistics community.
Logi-Tech Spotlight: Focus on AI and Innovation
Day 2 of IICS saw Chief Growth Officer Kunal Maheshwari deliver an engaging Logi-Tech Spotlight session, diving deep into the transformative role of AI within Logi-Sys. Kunal illustrated how LogiTALK functions as a virtual co-pilot, simplifying logistics operations, while LogiLENS automates and accelerates document-heavy processes.
Kunal also discussed the impact of the Softlink Academy, an initiative to address the talent and skills gap in the logistics sector. Through programs like LogiEXPERT (level-based learning courses for teams of customers and other professionals), LogiLEARN (academic partnerships bridging theory and practice), and LogiSKILL (vocational courses for undergraduates), Softlink is actively shaping the workforce of the future.
“Our focus has always been on identifying and solving real customer pain points in the forwarding industry,” said Kunal Maheshwari. “Whether it’s through real-time shipment tracking, mobile accessibility, or AI-powered automation, we’re committed to delivering practical solutions that drive efficiency.”
Elite Panel Discusses Digital Future
Softlink’s influence extended beyond its booth. Founder and MD Amit Maheshwari participated in a high-profile panel discussion alongside top industry leaders from Google, JSW, Kale Logistics and Schaeffler India. The session, titled ‘Harnessing Advanced Technologies for Resilience, Efficiency, and Innovation in Supply Chain’ saw the panel address AI’s transformative impact and the importance of connected ecosystems for overall business efficiency. Amit, renowned for his visionary outlook since the 90s, emphasized the need for an end-to-end ecosystem creation via ‘Logistics Highways’ and highlighted that digitalization is no longer optional but essential for businesses to survive in an era of rapid automation.
When asked by moderator Tej Contractor, Chairman, Advisory Board Information Technology, FIATA, on the all-pervasive question of whether AI will take away jobs, the panelists agreed that jobs would not be taken away. Rather, the nature of jobs will shift, just as it did when computers and the internet arrived – hence the need for a positive attitude towards change and the need for upskilling.
Engaging Conversations LogiTALK Podcasts
Another highlight of IICS was the debut of LogiTALK, Softlink’s exclusive mini-podcast series. Through engaging fireside chats, Kunal brought together logistics leaders to share insights, strategies, and experiences shaping the future of the industry. LogiTALK episodes will soon be released on Softlink Global’s LinkedIn and YouTube channels.
As we reflect on IICS 2024, it becomes evident that our shared focus on innovation and talent development is driving meaningful progress. Together, we are shaping a logistics landscape that is more connected, efficient, and prepared for the challenges ahead.
